Welcome Back to School: What to Know for a Great Start at Sedalia Elementary!

As summer winds down and excitement builds for a brand-new school year, the staff at Sedalia Elementary is thrilled to welcome our students and families back for what promises to be a fantastic year of learning, growth, and fun!

Whether you’re a returning Cruiser or joining us for the first time, we want you to feel confident and prepared as we head into the 2025–2026 school year. Below are a few important things to know:

1. First Day of School - The first day of school for students (grades 1-5) is Monday, August 11, 2025. Doors open at 9:00 a.m., and classes begin promptly at 9:15 a.m. Please ensure your child arrives on time and ready to learn!

2. Open House Night - Join us for Open House Night on Thursday, August 7, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for students to find their classrooms, drop off supplies, and meet their teachers before the first day.

3. School Supplies - Supply lists for each grade level are available on our website [link to supply lists]. If you need assistance with supplies, please contact our main office—we’re here to help!

4. Transportation and Dismissal - Information on how to access updated bus routes will be made available soon. Please check back regularly during the first few weeks of school, as routes are often adjusted to accommodate late enrollments and other changes. If your child is a car rider or walker, please review our updated dismissal procedures to ensure a safe and smooth end to each day.

5. Communication - Stay connected! Be sure to check our website regularly and follow us on social media for updates, event reminders, and school highlights. We’ll also continue to send home important information through our parent communication platform.
